Arrowheads Along Brouilletts Creek

The arrowheads in the 2 photos date from 1000 to 3000 years ago. In the creek picture, {top photo}, look to the right side and see the tall fir tree standing by itself. It is on the upslope to the field on the left, {bottom photo}, where I have found 100's of bird points and scrapers. The field to the right of the fir tree{middle photo} has let me find even better artifacts, including a perfect Paleo knife 8000 yrs. old. Try to imagine standing in the creek bed a few 1000 yrs. ago, watching all these prehistoric people trying to survive, using these stone tools and weapons. Me, I had my rod and reel, insect repellant, digital camera, pistol on my belt, cell phone, sandwich in my pocket and a car waiting for me at the bridge to take me home. I'll take what I had.

Indiana Creek Photos

I need to use up some of these edited for blog pictures so I can have room for 2008 photos, if it ever stops raining long enough for the creek to go down. Here's a couple good ones.

Moles

This is a mole that is in all lawns. My brother Jack hates these things because he mows my grass. I like them because they are an interesting animal that lives its life underground and eats worms and grubs, and I don't mow my grass.

Woodland Art

Who do you think created these fine pieces of art? I know. Do you? I do like trees. Is there a bad tree somewhere? Most of them just stand around, not bothering anything. But they get sawed, chopped, cut completely down for no reason, and even pissed on. Not fair.

An Old Man At Last

Sometimes this attitude is the correct one. I don't care much for cats, but I like this one, and Jeremy too. I will be 65 in September and the federal gov. has sent me a medicare info pkg. telling me I need to sign up and send them $100 month premium for part B, cause I'm an old man. The insurance companies are filling my mailbox with medicare supp. insurance plans, cause I'm an old man. Last year I paid $17 for an Indiana fishing license. This year I paid $17 for a Senior Fish for Life license. I never have to buy another fishing license as long as I live, cause I'm an old man. So I guess I'm an official OLD MAN. But I am disease free, sickness free and not one single pain in my body. Have'nt been to a doctor in 20 years, whatever that was for. Feel better than I ever have before. So for the federal gov. and the insurance companies, you get the picture. Not the fish for life license tho. That's not too bad of a deal for an old man. [Just this once]

Arrowheads & Old Fishing Spots

1st picture is an ancient knife that I found in 2 pieces on 2 separate days west of Universal Indiana in April 1995. 2nd picture is an old fishing spot at the old south pit where I used to fish 1950's thru the early 90's. 3rd picture is where me and my nephew Mike spent the night fishing at OSP #4 in the mid 70's That night we ate alot of pork&beans and had alot of farting fun. Even caught a few fish and cooked them over a fire. Good time. Too bad they are all gone. Too bad.

Early morning is a good time to see these deer getting their water for the day.
